The Campo Minuteman Project patrols the border fence, helping to stop illegal immigration. We Minutemen conduct 24/7 border watch operations near the California border fence. Helping to secure the Mexican border by turning in illegal immigrants. This site has information on how to report illegal alines and report illegal immigrants. There are many ways to help the minutemen, you can donate to the Minutemen or join the Minutemen and help us secure the border fence. Coming Down To The Border

The Campo Minutemen welcome all patriotic citizens to come down and join us at the California border. We are here 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and look forward to meeting new friends united in our concern for our great Country.

Campo is located about 55 miles east of San Diego, CA. At 3000 ft it is considered the high desert, which means it's hot during the day, with stong sun exposure and cool to cold during the night. If you are just going to come down to vist for the day and look around you should bring:

  • Sunscreen
  • Sun glasses
  • Water
  • Comfortable cothing
  • There is general store located 1/2 mile from the border.

If you are going to spend more than an afternoon with us you are strongly encouraged bring the above plus:

  • FRS Radio (email us as we might have extra)
  • Binoculars
  • Spotlight
  • Flashlight
  • Lawn chair
  • Sleeping arrangements (tent, RV, back of SUV etc.)

Other Suggested Items:

  • Legal firearms
  • Spotting scope
  • Night vision scope
  • Clothes for both night and day as the temp changes quite a bit
  • Tri-Tip and a Hibachi :)

The Campo Minutemen operate only East of the Pacific Trail Monument. The land to the West is Tacate and not BLM (bureau of land management) Land.

The laws with regard to camping and fire arms on BLM land and California park land vary considerable. People have been site by law enforcement for violations on on California park land

Directions:

  • From I8 take the Buckman Springs Rd Exit. Coming off I8 East you will take a right on Buckman Springs Rd. Go 10 Miles.
  • Buckman Springs Rd ends at CA94, You will see a gas station and a diner.
  • Take a right on CA94. Go 1.5 miles and turn left at Forrest Gate Rd. You will see a general store to your right.
  • Follow Forrest Gate Rd to the border fence. The pavement ends 1/4 mile before the fence, don't worry your going the right way. When you get to the fence turn LEFT. The are other groups in the Campo area, The Campo Minutemen are to the left (east).
  • Drive along the border road and contact us on Channel 6. When using the radio it helps to be on a high point, if you have trouble reaching us on the radio just keep driving until you are on a high spot.
